-------

This configuration is identical to the ``nimble`` configuration, except that
there is a 1MB :doc:`SMARTFS </components/filesystem/smartfs>` file system using
the chip's on-board flash located at `/data` for storing files.
.. note::
The first time you boot the device, the SMARTFS file system may fail to be
mounted. This is because the flash partition is not yet formatted, and is not
auto-formatted. Helpfully, you will be prompted to run
.. code:: console
nsh> mksmartfs /dev/smart0
nsh> reboot
Then everything should work as expected.
.. note::
You can choose to mount other types of file systems to the flash partition,
too! :doc:`NXFFS </components/filesystem/nxffs>`, :doc:`littlefs
</components/filesystem/littlefs>`, etc.
